As you know.  We're studying Spanish.  A tremendously huge part of studying another language is that of memorizing vocabulary.

Somehow, I conveniently forgot how much I vehemently dislike memorizing things.

Sorry, I do.  Just being honest with you :).

So, I now get to figure this out - no avoiding it!  Here's what I'm trying.

Flash cards and writing vocab down roughly a hundred zillion times.

And labeling pretty much everything in the apartment.  For the record, I asked my flatmates if it was ok with them before I started obsessively labeling things :).
platos, tazas, y cuencos

pared (wall).  and a super neat hot pad from a dear friend :)

las cortinas
There you go - and it's working - not fast enough (there's my astounding patience talking) - but it's coming along :).  Thanks for your prayers!

If I came to visit tomorrow I would bring my swirly stamp and some pretty colors of ink pads and I would decorate all your little notes. I can't believe my daughter hasn't...

She's been baking amazing treats so she maybe just hasn't gotten around to it yet :).

This is what I keep telling myself to do for Ryan and me...except I'll put both English and Spanish down so he can learn the sight words for both. Hope it's going well...we're praying for you all. :)

Stacy - you crack me up. but, this actually a great idea to help you learn the language. Best of luck! You'll be surprised how much you pick up and suddenly, you will just realize that you are having full conversations with people. It's fun!
