Monday evening one of my language exchange partners and I were discussing hay bales (translated to Spanish: alpacas). She grew up on a farm, so we can have conversations like this that would otherwise seem really random in our current context. Actually, it still seems really random...
Anyways, yesterday she saw two hay bales here in Madrid! So, she took this picture and emailed it to me!
How great is that?

Hi Stacy!
I've been following your blog for a little while and I've been curious about how you actually begin to build a church. How do you connect with locals? Where do you hold your church services? What progress has your team made so far?
I hope all is well in Madrid and I will keep your team in my prayers!
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Kim!
Thanks for your interest and your prayers! We are actually in the process of trying to identify where God is at work here. Currently, that means we are trying to plug into the neighborhood, develop relationships, and learn what people believe and where they are at.
Feel free to email me at ssillasen@avmi.org if you have additional questions. I may or may not have answers, but I'll give it a shot :).
Stacy
